Аннотация

In the present article, the reflection of national worldview in
cognitive metaphor and metonymy in the Uzbek language is examined
on the basis of illustrative examples. At the initial stage, attention is given
to the concept of metaphor and its main types. Simple, personifying,
synesthetic, and cognitive metaphors are distinguished, and each type is
subjected to systematic analysis. Cognitive metaphor is interpreted as a
means of conceptualizing and comprehending the world. The formation
mechanism of cognitive metaphor is explained through the interaction
between donor and recipient elements.
Different types of cognitive metaphors are identified, in particular
structural, orientational, and ontological metaphors, and their distinctive
features are determined with reference to examples drawn from literary
works. In addition, cognitive metaphors based on the abstraction of
action and the conceptualization of time are analyzed comprehensively
and in detail. In each type of metaphor, the determining role of national
perception is revealed, and the decisive influence of national worldview
in cognitive metaphor is demonstrated. Furthermore, it is shown that
cognitive metonymy also reflects the systematic knowledge of the world
possessed by native speakers
